Behold the power of prayer...

So I was surfing the net, and I came across a couple of prayers that I really liked... I thought I would share them.

Show me the course

Steer the ship of my life, good Lord, to your quiet harbour, where I can be safe from the storms of sin and conflict. Show me the course I should take. Renew in me the gift of discernment, so that I can always see the right direction in which I should go. And give me the strength and the courage to choose the right course, even when the sea is rough and the waves are high, knowing that through enduring hardship and danger in your name we shall find comfort and peace.

Basil of Caesarea

and
Prayer for Trust in Jesus

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.

St. Ignatius of Loyola

So then I continued my online searching and came upon American Catholic.org, and I found out that Today is the 450th anniversary of the death of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. His spirituality continues to enliven the Church, especially through retreats and educational institutions. Click here for more info

I have really been enjoying going to church on Sundays. I had not realized just how much I missed it.

I am still doing well in my classes. Got 98 on my second test in crim... two 98's are not bad! and a 97 on last weeks paper for my psych class and a 100 on this weeks! This week is going to be really busy, I have a paper due Wednesday, and a powerpoint presentation to put together by then too, on a different topic.

I had my MRI last Wednesday that was a mess... took forever! Anywho they got the results back, so I have an appointment for this wednesday... I am not sure what I will find out, I guess if I need surgery or not, and get a referal to an Orthopedic surgeon. I may ask for your prayers if that is the case.

anywho catch you guys later... got to get back to lab stuff.

Hey there! I was doing a search on St.Ignatius of Loyola yesterday too because I found his name on my calendar and realised that it was his anniversary of death. His life was very inspiring. I like the first prayer alot and will pray for your health also.
Great scores in school, your studies will be keeping you a very busy girl i'm sure!
MRI's can be so annoying I remember trying to be still for ages, I just wanted to yell out "will you please move it!" and "oh I accidently moved does that mean we have to start again?" I'm not a very good patient.
Take care!

hola

So I guess I am not doing to well updating during the summer semesters. School moves quick, and life moves quicker. It just seems like even though I am not working full time any more, my days are just as busy if not busier. LOL! I thought I would have time to hang out on campus, lead a student life, but that has yet to happen.

It's okay though - school work takes up a lot of my time. I am doing very well in all of my classes! Lots of A's. I have papers due every friday, and thus far I have achieved A's on all of them. I like to write, so it is not a big deal...

In other news, I have done something to my knee again. Nothing new though, It has been dislocating every now and again since I injured it in 2001. Three knee surgeries have not fixed it yet... This time it was different though, I think I may have torn something when I dislocated it. So I went to the doctor, and I am back in a brace and back on crutches. Makes getting around campus fun. I go for an MRI on Wednesday. I will try to keep you guys posted. If I go for surgery it is going to make this fall a biotch! My schedule is so packed. I have class or work from 725 am through 5 or 6:30 every night. But I think it will be worth it. I have my internship and my TA, all together I am taking 19 credit hours. A full load is 12, but most take 15.

No news on the Man front... I have gone on a couple of dates, but nothing promising. I really don't have time to foster a relationship right now anyhow, so I guess I am not missing out on anything. I miss some aspects of having a relationship, but for the most part, I don't miss the hassle.

I have been giong to church on Sundays. It feels good, I think I really missed that aspect of my life. I never lost my faith, but I did question God's motives. But it is not for me to question. I wish there was someone here that I knew to go with, it is kind of odd sitting alone in a pew. I am looking into student groups, bible study or something to meet Catholics my age. I used to always be in the choirs, both vocal and bell choirs. But I am not sure my schedule will allow that.

well I will catch yall on the flip side. If I have any readers left... sorry I have not been so good at updating. Hard to juggle all the responsiblities.

I'm sure you have lots of readers left! It's nice to see your update and to hear that your studies are going so well. Although, it's a pity about your knee, ouch! I hope it gets better in a hurry.
That's great about you going to Church, I would go with you if I were close enough!

Hey Sweety,

I have had a whil where I did not update as often as I used to. It's normal when life takes up all your time, it's great when you've got so many things to do.

It really is a pity to hear about your knee, I hope it will get better soon

That's great that you are doing so well in your studies. I hope my grades come out OK this August :-/

It's also good that you are independent of men and are finding that OK. I am struggling lol.

I'm sorry about your knee, I hope it gets better soon!
